The Board of The Sandstone News (how the Sandstone News is managed) The Board of the Sandstone News is the formal name for the managing organisation. It is an entirely independent group of 8 volunteers from the Village Halls that the Sandstone News represents. We are not constituted as a charity, neither do we aim to make a profit; a copy of our constitution can be viewed by clicking here The Board meets about 6 times per year at Bickerton Village Hall (click here for minutes of last meeting) Most of our business is conducted by email. Volunteers to help with any of the following are most welcome: editorial layout (training will be given in using Quark Express), marketing and distribution; please apply at info@sandstonenews.org.uk The editorial work is done in Quark Express to tie in with the capabilities of our local printers (Herald Print, Whitchurch) About two thirds of the cost is met from public funding whilst advertising revenue makes up the remaining one third. It costs around £1100 to produce the 2000 copies that are distributed for each issue.
